Ginkgo biloba
Where can we see it in Lisbon?
Ginkgo is a frequent tree in multiple gardens or street alignments, always giving preference to the male species, once the fruit that only grows on the female species dirties the sidewalks and has an unpleasant smell. We can see it at Campo Mártires da Pátria, Largo da Luz and Príncipe Real Gardens and at Eduardo VII Park. At the Botanical Garden there are female species. At Paiva Couceiro Square we can find one that is officially classified as a public interest tree.
